About the editorial team behind this review site
An independent editorial resource that reviews EightCap for readers in Uganda, with no affiliation and no financial services.
Partner's official siteDraw the limits of what we will not do
A reader once asked whether we could open an account for them and take a deposit. The answer was no, and it explains the whole arrangement. This site is not the broker. We do not hold client money, open accounts, process deposits or withdrawals, or give personal advice on whether to trade. We do not execute orders or manage funds for anyone.
We also will not sell a verdict. No broker can pay for a better score, a softer review or a place on any page. Our conclusions are reached before any commercial conversation and are not changed afterwards. If we cannot test something properly, we say so rather than fill the gap with a guess.
Nothing here is a recommendation to trade. A review describes what we observed and how we scored it; it does not tell a reader what to do with their money. Decisions remain with the reader, and the risks remain with them too.
Explain how the site pays for itself
The site is funded through advertising and commercial arrangements with the broker reviewed here, and through the ordinary running of an editorial site. Those arrangements are kept separate from the editorial process. Money never moves in exchange for a score, a rating, wording in a review or the removal of a criticism.
Where a page carries advertising or a commercial link, that is disclosed on the page itself. The disclosure is there so a reader can weigh what they are reading. It does not change the method described below, and it does not give any advertiser a right to see a review before publication or to influence it after.
Describe how the broker is tested and scored
Testing starts with the account itself: we register as an ordinary client, use the platform, place trades in a demo setting and, where possible, a live one with our own funds, and record what happens. We look at execution, spreads, fees, withdrawal handling, platform stability and the quality of customer support at different times of day.
We then compare what we observed with what the broker publishes: its terms, its fee schedule, its stated policies on client money and its complaints handling. Where the two disagree, we report the disagreement rather than smoothing it over. Documents and screenshots are kept so that a score can be traced back to evidence.
Scoring uses a fixed set of criteria applied in the same way to every review on this site. Each criterion carries a weight, and the final score follows from those weights. We do not adjust a weight to reach a preferred result. Where a criterion could not be tested, it is marked as untested and the score reflects that gap.
Invite readers to challenge what we publish
A reader who thinks a page is wrong should say so. The contact form on this site reaches the editorial team, and messages about factual errors are read before other correspondence. Please include the page, the sentence and whatever evidence you have, such as a statement, a screenshot or a dated support exchange.
We check the point against our own records. If we got it wrong, we correct the page and note the correction where the change is material. If we stand by the finding, we explain why and, where it helps, add the reader's point to the page so others can see the exchange.
Corrections are not traded for anything. We do not remove a finding because a reader or a broker finds it inconvenient, and we do not add a criticism because someone asks us to.
Set out how often pages are revisited
Every review on this site is revisited on a regular cycle, and sooner when something changes: a new fee schedule, a platform update, a shift in the broker's terms or a pattern in reader reports. The date at the top of a page shows when it was last checked, not when it was first written.
We keep the older version of a page in our records so that changes can be traced. When a material change alters a score, we say what changed and why, rather than quietly replacing the number.
The site exists because readers in Uganda looking at this broker deserve an account that is not written by the broker and not paid to flatter it. It is for people who want to understand fees, execution, withdrawals and support before they commit money, and who want to know how a conclusion was reached. It is not for anyone looking for a signal, a promise or a shortcut.
